Thanks to a grant from Northumberland National Park's Sustainable Development Fund, we have been able to install an environmentally friendly biomass boiler which burns logs from nearby Kielder Forest to produce heating and hot water for our cottages. This is helping us to offer our guests a warm and comfortable holiday all year round. Sustainable development in and around Northumberland National Park is about promoting ways of living and working that allow businesses to prosper, communities to thrive and people to enjoy life. At the same time, it is about enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the National Park and affording opportunities for the public to understand and enjoy its special qualities.
